BRAIN-BUILDING
Assisted by the Zopra Piano Teacher and an HD display, young pianists learn to play art-inspired songs and pieces that are musically complex -- while still being fun and accessible. Children also learn to "read" art through the lenses of music and lyrics.
DIVERSE
The Zopra Piano Library of 350 piano solos and duets is growing! Our many themes -- animals, plants, bugs, moving machines, foreign people and places, community, history, fairytales, spooky, culinary -- appeal to both boys and girls. Besides sparking interest, the program prepares young players to master any genre of music, especially classical.
Supplementary music for younger students includes John Feirabend's First Steps in Music (GIA). This age-graded program showcases a large repertoire of folk songs to which students play along with rhythm sticks, often to pictures. This fun approach provides a rhythmic foundation that accelerates pianistic progress. Experienced students will study from Robert Starer's Basic Rhythm Training and also Feirabend's Conversational Solfege, which features both folk and classical music.
IMAGINATIVE
Zopra's music and lyrics are crafted around the art of M.C. Escher, Paul Klee, Vincent Van Gogh, Arthur Rackham, Edgar Degas, George Inness, Henry Ossawa Tanner, Mary Cassatt, Winslow Homer, Yoshikuni, Willem Kalf, Albrecht Durer, and many others.
Students love that their piano music is joined with the work of renowned artists! The illustrations aid retention and inspire curiosity, creativity and achievement.
