AT WHICH AGE DO I START MY CHILD?

Our wonderful Lap Music allows children to begin piano lessons as early as 3 years old -- and still play interesting, brain-building music. In fact, the earlier children start and the more frequent the lessons the greater the neurological and musical benefits.

The Zopra Piano Teacher takes into account the natural readiness of each child, and even the youngest children can meaningfully play piano music.  There is no substitute for guided, hands-on, active listening and playing.

Given the (relative) complexity of Zopra's scores and the sophistication of the illustrations, our program transitions students to play composers like Bach, Beethoven and Mozart.  Zopra Piano provides a smart start for those entering as late as junior high.

If your child demonstrates a passion for music, almost no age is either too young or too old.

Strong believers in a singing-based general music program, we teach the entire line of Dr. John M. Feierabend's First Steps in Music (GIA publications). His Conversational Solfege is used for rhythmic training, as well as the Starer method. All pianists start with folk songs and rhythm sticks.
